The Innovation Think tank
Net Optics Learning Center Presents | A Day of Learning and Exploration
Part One: The Fundamentals of Passive Monitoring Access The
explosion in network security and monitoring solutions has created
challenges for network professionals who want to have secure access to
network traffic and leverage their security and monitoring assets.
Network professionals are looking for ways they can obtain
high-visibility access to network traffic without affecting the
security and integrity of their enterprise networks. Finding solutions
that maintain link uptime, prevent packet loss and latency, avoid new
points of failure and provide flexibility and scalability are critical
to successful network security and monitoring. This presentation covers
connectivity options that address these increasingly common issues.
Participants will learn the best practices for connecting their
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS),
probes, and analyzers to critical network links.
Part Two: The Innovation Think Tank Net
Optics' Innovation Think Tanks are some of our most important events.
Think Tanks are a unique outreach of the Net Optics R&D group where
customers and partners review and comment on new product concepts and
pre-release products in a creative exchange of ideas with our
engineers. It is an opportunity for our customers and partners to
influence the direction of our product development, thus creating
products with features and functionality specifically tailored to solve
customers' network challenges. These events are limited to 20-25 guests.
Keynote Speaker Our keynote speaker will be Richard Bejtlich, founder of TaoSecurity and author of The Tao of Network Security Monitoring and Extrusion Detection: Security Monitoring for Internal Intrusions.
When: Tuesday, September 26, 2006
Where: Hyatt Fair Lakes 12777 Fair Lakes Circle, Fairfax, VA 22033 Telephone (703) 818-1234
Demonstration: Several
Taps will be demonstrated in a simulated network environment. The
demonstration station will be available during registration, breaks and
lunch. Net Optics engineers will be present to answer any and all
questions.
Miscellaneous: You
may attend one or both sessions. There are no fees or charges
associated with this event. Continental breakfast and catered lunch
will be served.
Registration: Click here to register. The first 10 registrants will receive a free copy of Richard Bejtlich's The Tao of Network Security Monitoring.
